Hypoallergenic dogs are breeds of dogs that don’t shed much. They produce less allergens. These allergens are usually present in saliva, urine and dead skin.
Goldendoodles are a cross-breed between the Poodle and the Golden Retriever. As a result, the same litter will produce a mix of hypoallergenic and allergenic goldendoodle puppies.
There are several ways to reduce the allergic effects caused by dogs. Most of these involve the reduction or elimination of the amount of fur and dander (dead skin) present in the house.
Dog hair tends to stick in cracks and other hard to reach places. Consequently, you should cover furniture, pillows and mattresses with covers that are easy to remove and clean.
A vacuum cleaner comes in handy when cleaning dog hairs.
Female dogs and cats produce less allergens than their male counterparts. Feeding your pet a healthy diet also helps maintain a healthy coat. In addition, bathe and groom your pet regularly – and always wash your hands after coming into contact with your pet.
The loose hairs will be removed in the process. Another effective way to reduce dog allergies is to limit their access to the parts of the house that you frequent, especially the bedroom. This will create allergy-free zones.
It is important to note that all dogs produce the protein that cause dog allergies – Can f 1 and Can f 2. The difference is that hypoallergenic dogs produce less of these protein, and shed less fur. The protein are deposited on to the dog’s hair/ fur when they lick themselves.
